We now have 42 journal club editors in various hospitals around the country.

These volunteers have taken on the responsibility of adding any internal meeting to the CPD activities for their department, as a result of this initiative participants can build up their points quite quickly.

Learning Hub St James Hospital

National Blood Transfusion Committee

The new National Blood Transfusion Committee is a government organisation that ensures blood transfusion practice throughout Ireland reflects best international practice in terms of patient care and value for money. In order to promote the National Blood Transfusion Committee website, the committee have set up a Facebook page to maximise communication throughout the Blood Transfusion community with direct links to Transfusion related issues. Contribute to AMLS History

To mark its 40th anniversary in 2014, the AMLS has commissioned a history. This will join the recent MLSA and IBMS history publications on the bookshelves. Noel White and Anne MacLellan have agreed to take on this task and considerable work has already been undertaken, particularly by Noel.

Noel is a former Laboratory Manager, St James's Hospital and President of the AMLS.
