Continuous Professional Enhancement Programme |
| | | The Academy promotes the ethos of life long learning through the Academy’s Continuous Professional Enhancement Programme (CPEP). Through CPEP, medical scientists have an opportunity to continue their professional education through a three-year cycle of partaking in learning opportunities. Points are accumulated over a three-year period leading to Certification points. 150 points must be accumulated in any three-year period. Points are obtained by attending scientific meetings, workshops, courses and journal clubs. They can also be obtained through essay writing and involvement in the academic development of the profession, lecturing, undergraduate work, postgraduate work, and supervision. At present, the accumulation of these points is not mandatory. However, upon the introduction of statutory registration, it may become mandatory. |
