I am delighted to welcome you to The Academy of Medical Laboratory Science, the professional body for Medical Scientists in Ireland. The Academy functions as the Designated Authority with the approval of the Minister of Health and Children, in evaluating the education and training necessary to practise medical laboratory science in Ireland.

Membership or eligibility for membership of the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science is a requirement to practise in the profession in Ireland.

CPD UPDATED INFORMATION

If you would like training on CPD Registration and the Academy Website please email monica.fitzpatrick@amls.ie, she will present at a journal club meeting in your laboratory there is also a CPD Booklet available which will guide you through the process.

And Finally: When you have completed a cycle of CPD you can now print a certificate and transcript for each activity, or leave it online for future reference.

CHARITY DONATION LABCON

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our charity collection at LABCON – your generosity raised an amazing €1,545.00 for Cystic Fibrosis.
The AMLS and MLSA will make a formal presentation soon.

PRESIDENT'S PRIZE

The winner of this year’s President's Prize at LABCON Ireland 2013 is Michael Coleman from Cork Institute of Technology.

The six students who were awarded the highest marks in their 5th Year projects presented at conference in competition for the President’s Prize:

From Dublin Institute of Technology: Nadia Anshasi and Christopher Fox
From Cork Institute of Technology: Michael Coleman and Liam De Barra
From Galway Mayo Institute of Technology: Leanne Mangan and Michelle Sammut.
